Eligibility Criteria for BDS
- The candidate must be 17 years of age or older on or before December 31st of the
admission year.

The candidate must have passed the 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination with Physics,
Chemistry, and Biology as main subjects, securing at least:
General Category: 50th percentile
Persons with Locomotor Disability of Lower Limbs: 45th percentile
Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward
Classes (OBC): 40th percentile Admission to the BDS course is based on
a single national-level entrance exam, the National Eligibility cum
Entrance Test (NEET), conducted once a year across India.

Since 2016, qualifying NEET has been mandatory for admission to medical and dental
courses, including MBBS and BDS. Only candidates who meet the NEET cutoff marks
set by the National Testing Agency (NTA) are eligible for admission.

After qualifying NEET, candidates must visit dme.mponline.gov.in and navigate to
“Under Graduate Counselling” for the Choice Filling and Choice Locking Process of UG
course counseling.

15% of total seats are reserved for NRI candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.
Eligibility Criteria for MDS
- The candidate must possess a recognized Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
degree awarded by a university or institute in India and must be registered with
the State Dental Council.

The candidate must have completed a one-year compulsory rotatory internship in
an approved/recognized dental college.

The candidate must have obtained provisional or permanent registration with the
State Dental Council.

Admission to the Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) course is based on a uniform
National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET MDS) conducted annually by the
National Board of Examinations (NBE) as per the prescribed guidelines.

The candidate must have passed the 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination with Physics,
Chemistry, and Biology as main subjects, securing at least:
General Category: 50th percentile
Persons with Locomotor Disability of Lower Limbs: 45th percentile
Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward
Classes (OBC): 40th percentile

A state-wise merit list of eligible candidates will be prepared based on NEET
MDS scores, and admissions to postgraduate dental courses will be made strictly
from this merit list.
